Marvel Legends began in 2002 as a spin-off of Spider-Man Classics, both produced by Toy Biz. It copied the same clam-shell style packaging and included a comic book much like that which had shipped with the Spider-Man Classics line. Toy Biz retained the rights to make Marvel Legends until 2007 when Hasbro took over.
